About This Role

A senior accounting operations role for a finance professional with deep insurance and/or retirement accounting expertise. You will lead a team of consultants and specialists, manage regulatory compliance obligations (NAIC, SEC, ERISA), and support internal and external audit processes in a complex enterprise environment.

What You Will Do

  • Lead retirement accounting oversight, manage contribution tracking, benefit disbursement reconciliation, and audit-ready financial records
  • Oversee insurance accounting operations ensuring accurate documentation and timely execution per NAIC, SEC, and applicable regulations
  • Implement and monitor internal controls across insurance and retirement workflows, identify and escalate anomalies
  • Optimise operational workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across both functions
  • Manage a team of consultants and specialists, coaching, guidance, and performance oversight
  • Support internal and external audits with accurate records and full compliance documentation
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise risk management frameworks

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Insurance, or related field
  • 8–12 years of experience in insurance and/or retirement accounting
  • Preferably within HR or employee benefits contexts
  • Experience managing teams and coordinating with third-party providers
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and audit requirements for employee benefits
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, NAIC, and SEC regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication skills across internal and external stakeholders
